A 50 to 80% weight saving
Thanks to a density 4 times lower than that of steel (2 vs 7.8), for an equivalent bending strength (1200 MPa), the glass fiber composite allows a weight saving of 50 to 80% compared to a steel spring. In addition, the integration of functions (see below) allows this advantage to be accentuated.

RE-FLEXION uses molding processes which allow much more free form variations than with steel. This allows the composite spring to be integrated into small or complex environments.
Optimize flexible areas and rigid parts
By optimizing the flexible areas and the rigid parts, we can use a transverse monolam which allows the integration of the 2 traditional suspension springs, the anti-roll bar and even the suspension wishbones in a single part. This simplifies assembly and optimizes space.
No special maintenance
Unlike steel, the composite does not require special maintenance. Moreover, it is not affected by corrosion, which allows it to be used in aquatic environments for example.
Up to 50% more damping!
The viscoelasticity of the composite blade provides up to 50% more damping than a steel blade. A considerable advantage for vehicle suspensions or the flexibility of prostheses.
High working capacity
The freedom of geometry offers the possibility of evolving stiffness (increasing or decreasing) of concave or convex change curve, even to the step. Thus, in buckling, the spring can store a maximum of energy with little deformation, on the other hand, in traction you can have a great comfort on small shocks without the risk of coming to a stop.

The articulated foot prosthesis by Ré-Fléxion
RE-FLEXION is the author of a particularly innovative articulated foot prosthesis. The result of extensive technological research, this invention was made possible by a long dialogue with athletes and ergonomists, to better understand their expectations and constraints. Lightness and flexibility
